The rise of luxury leisurewear and heritage silhouettes have brought celebrity and high-fashion footwear collaborations into the frow. Making the most of “celebrity-approved” silhouettes and fusing style codes, fashion houses are looking to athleisure brands to bring new audiences to the luxury market.
Wales Bonner’s Adidas Sambas reached Instagram cult status in 2024, Parisian brand Patou collaborated with Onitsuka Tiger to deliver a couture version of the brand’s Mexico 66 shoe, and Billie Eilish drew in the cool crowd with her Nike Air Alpha Force 88 collaboration.
