Perth, located more than 3,500 kilometres from both Sydney and Melbourne, isn’t always the first to welcome shiny new luxuries. However, this year marks a notable exception as the city’s high-end shopping district has undergone a significant transformation, welcoming 15 brands to the west end of Murray Street. The latest addition to this revamped hub is high jewellery label Cartier. Located on the ground floor of the heritage-listed Fauldings Building, this marks Cartier’s first foray into Western Australia, complementing its established presence in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.

Designed by the renowned Paris-based architects Studio Parisien, the boutique draws inspiration from Western Australia’s diverse landscapes, seamlessly blending local elements with Cartier’s timeless French elegance. Much like Cartier’s Sydney store, which showcases Australian flora and fauna, the Perth boutique features a striking signature wall adorned with a tactile custom artwork of the iconic Cartier panther. The panther is set against a backdrop of rugged terrain, framed by native Western Australian flora and fauna, and highlighted by golden and blush tones reminiscent of the region’s sand dunes and pink salt lakes.

The boutique’s design continues this earthy theme with a decorative recessed ceiling that pays homage to the captivating textures of Wave Rock, reimagined in sandy gold. Additional art pieces, such as two alligators and a cockatoo, further enrich the boutique’s interior.

Thomas Crye, Managing Director of Cartier Oceania, expresses his excitement about the new store: “We believe the boutique’s showcase of creativity, craftsmanship, and savoir-faire with a distinctly Australian touch will inspire our clients to discover the Cartier universe. We look forward to welcoming our clients in Perth and offering them a unique experience full of beauty.”

The space spans a generous 300 square metres and offers a full range of Cartier’s jewellery and watch collections, along with a wide selection of accessories including leather goods, fragrances, and gifts. A semi-open lounge provides a private space for clients to relax while exploring Cartier’s offerings, with an adjoining VIP salon for an exclusive experience.
