T Australia: The New York Times Style Magazine brings courage, energy and power to readers, serving as a journal of where Australia is at today. Our new edition, on sale now and featuring Australian actor and producer Margot Robbie, was created during a time of restrictions, lockdowns and stress, and that has informed its content, as well as its theme, ‘Impact’, says Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Katarina Kroslakova.

“When we started working on this Impact issue, locally acquired Covid-19 cases were few and far between and there was talk of post-pandemic life. Then the Delta variant took hold and everything changed,” she explains. “On a practical level, the team had to rethink photoshoots and put travel plans on hold. On a personal level, as the weeks rolled on and my family withdrew from the world beyond our front door, I found myself seeking out more personal, reflective stories for the issue — pieces that look inward rather than out.”

So as a result, this issue is dedicated to dreamers and doers, and therefore Robbie is perfect as our cover star. In a candid interview via phone in London, she tells T Australia about her Hollywood side hustle and her next big project, which has her putting everything on the line.

In this issue, you’ll also find:

LITERATURE: “Eggshell Skull” writer Bri Lee, plus musings from the biographer Lance Richardson

CULTURE: Baby et Lulu’s Abby Dobson and Lara Goodridge, and a peek at Canberra’s next big exhibition

STYLE: Beloved Australian designers share their branding secrets

DINING: Vegemite goes gourmet, plus Narito Ishii, the fish handler with a cult following

DESIGN: The best in meteorite watches and wireless headphones

MOTORING: Autonomous tech from Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Renault

This issue is on sale now at over 3000 newsagents nationally, as well as good bookshops. In lockdown and don’t want to venture to the shops or perhaps you live too far from your local newsagent? No problems, you can order a single copy of the magazine online and have it sent straight to your door. No need to leave the house!
