Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation Gold Dinner will take place this week at Sydney’s White Bay Cruise Terminal in Balmain, with tickets to the glamorous event costing $3,500.
Funds raised at the annual charity event have helped to support vital projects for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, such as The Centre for Clinical Genetics, palliative care and research into rare diseases. Last year’s event raised almost $20 million and this year organisers are aiming for $75 million to contribute to the redevelopment of Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Co-chaired by chief executive of Lowes, Linda Penn and her son Joshua Penn, the 2023 Gold Dinner also included the largest single pledge with a $5 million donation made by Gina Rinehart’s family on behalf of Hancock Prospecting.
Attendees (by invitation only) are somewhat of a who’s who of Australia’s wealthiest and most philanthropic. Making an appearance this year – and part of the 2024 Gold Committee – will be Baronja Investments’ James Auswild, founder and director of Black Diamondz Group International, Monika Tu, and Perth entrepreneur Bryce Sceresini.
