An audience favourite at Cannes earlier this year, the film – directed by and starring Michael Covino – has been billed by organisers as “a sharp and stylish comedy, exploring the complexities of love, commitment and modern relationships”.

Sydney Film Festival runs from June 4-15. For tickets and to learn more about the full programme, visit sff.org.au.

Listen Up: “The Cutting Room Floor” Podcast (Featuring Steve Madden)

In keeping with fashion’s current appetite for cultural markers of the late 2000s, footwear designer Steve Madden has gotten a surge of positive press from millions of TikTok users – following an appearance on “The Cutting Room Floor” podcast.

Last week, the show’s host Recho Omondi, shared a lengthy conversation with Madden: in which the two candidly discuss a lengthy range of topics, including the designer’s time in prison; the importance of working in retail; and US national politics.

Wear This: Wynn Hamlyn Winter 25 Capsule Collection

For his latest cold weather capsule, native New Zealand designer Wynn Cranshaw – who helms unisex fashion label Wynn Hamlyn – has unveiled four new styles that include coats, “technical knitwear” and accessories.

For many, the most timely highlight will be the imposing, double-breasted ‘Charlie’ coat; which is made in a monochrome wool fabric and roomy double-breasted closure.

Meanwhile, the two accessories – a handwoven tote and leather pouch – have both been designed so that they can be styled together or worn separately, ensuring an appeal that goes well beyond the days of single-digit mercury.

Shop This: Bottega Veneta ‘Veneto’ Sling Bag

The latest ‘Veneto’ style of crossbody sling, from Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta, is tailormade for men who embrace the iconography of fashion – yet are averse to logos.

Each style (in ‘Fondant’ brown or ‘Sulphur’ yellow) is made using the brand’s signature intrecciato weave: consisting of many overlapping strands of Nappa leather that give these Venetos their high strength-to-weight ratio and eyecatching “organic shape”.

$4,630, bottegaveneta.com.

Visit Here: Sydney’s Newest Members Club, Set Amid Heritage-Listed Surrounds

Australia is – by any conventional measure – not a huge market for private members clubs, although the region is currently undergoing meaningful change in this regard – with openings across Perth, Melbourne and, naturally, Sydney.

The Pillars is one of the more extravagant (and anticipated) arrivals in the Harbour City: sparking conversation with its homegrown management team, four-storey floorplan, Bentley Group dining partnership and $20,000+ annual membership fees.

The hard product itself is noteworthy: a heritage-listed build which was at one time NSW’s first savings bank. A fitting setting for the club’s denizens to whittle down the four-figure F&B credit which accompanies membership.
