To wear one’s heart on one’s sleeve implies an open heart. But what about wearing one’s heart on one’s heels? A new collaboration between New Zealand-born sustainable ready-to-wear label Maggie Marilyn and Australian footwear makers Essēn allows wearers to take a well-heeled step towards love, with a new two piece edit that includes a wedge heel with detachable hearts ($595) and a ballet slipper ($495).
Available in deep plum or bright apple hued colourways, the designs – the second shared capsule for the brands – are handmade in Italy from Italian patent leather, produced using a transparent supply chain.
“What excited me most in designing this capsule with Essēn was bringing the same quality, care, and beauty that I love most about luxury shoes into an offering with our community in mind,” says Maggie Marilyn founder Maggie Hewitt.
