From Miu Miu and Catherine Martin finding inspiration in 1920s dazzle and French chateaus to Nicolas Ghesquière’s star-studded resort 2026 runway for Louis Vuitton, this is T Australia’s high-fashion dossier for all the news you need to know in May.
Miu Miu Upcycled by Catherine Martin
The south of France in the 1920s was the inspiration for Australian costume designer Catherine Martin’s cinematic collaboration for Miu Miu Upcycled. Accompanied by Martin’s debut short film, “Grande Envie”, starring Willem Defoe and Daisy Ridley, the collection mingles old-world opulence with country club manor chic, where girlish lace meets hedonistic beading and bias cuts set to the backdrop of a French chateau. Miu Miu Upcycled by Catherine Martin will debut in London on June 7.
Louis Vuitton Resort 2026 Collection
Avignon’s Palais de Papes set a storied stage for Louis Vuitton’s bohemian-meets-brocade 2026 cruise collection. Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière honoured the site’s heritage with his theatrical ready-to-wear capsule, which featured bedazzled open-toe boots, sequin cuffs, metallic tailoring and fur trim.
The Coach Tabby Shop
From May 31 to June 1, Coach’s iconic archival Tabby collection will be popping-up on Oxford Street in Paddington. The Tabby will be available to purchase in both the classic shoulder and clutch styles and customisable with bag charms, straps and monogramming.
Zero Meaning Bondi Flagship
Bondi Beach is adding another flagship store to its high-end fashion oeuvre, with Zero Meaning opening on Jaques Avenue. Effortless unisex wardrobe essentials and high-quality craftsmanship are the brand’s calling cards, and interior design by Akin Atelier sets the tone with bleached concrete, brushed steel and stone.
