Whitney Peak knows all too well what it requires to fully give yourself over to something. Best known for her role in the revival of the “Gossip Girl” television series (2021–2023), the Ugandan-born, Canadian-raised actress has risen through Hollywood’s ranks from the very bottom: background acting.
This year, the 20-year-old’s star is set to shine bright. Peak is due to shoot three yet-to-be-named films and (perhaps most tellingly) she has been appointed the new face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, a role previously held by Keira Knightley and Kate Moss.
It’s fitting, then, that Peak sees fragrance as an essential part of her beauty regimen. “When I get out of the shower, I put my moisturiser on, I do my oil, I put my fragrance on,” she says.
“Without [my fragrance], I am incomplete,” she adds. “When I’m complete, I can fully give myself. I can be fully vulnerable; I can be open and accepting. If you’re going to leave the house and give yourself to everybody, I think you should always feel very complete.”
